Who We Are Nanette Courtenay is an outstanding jazz singer, having been heard at Ronnie Scott’s world famous club in Soho and been voted BBC jazz soloist of the year. ( “ The sublime Ms. Courtenay…” Cross Rhythms.)  Gwyn Allen was a finalist in “Stars in Their Eyes” in 1997. He has worked with the Sid Lawrence Orchestra and his band has been heard at the Dorchester hotel in London’s West End. The New Backbeat Band was formed following BACKBEAT, a big band that functioned briefly in the mid-90s. Some of the players have been heard on Jazz FM and Radio 3 as well as around the main London jazz venues. The band is directed and the music arranged by Scott Willcox. |
